Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 14 oz (1 can) sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Candy Mix-in

  • 1 cup chopped Easter candy (pastel M&Ms, mini chocolate eggs, or colorful jelly beans)

Optional

  • Pinch of sea salt flakes

Instructions

  1. Prepare your pan: Line an 8×8 inch square baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it to ensure the fudge releases easily once set.
  2. Melt the base ingredients: In a medium saucepan, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, butter, and sweetened condensed milk over low heat. Stir continuously until everything is melted and smooth, making sure not to let the chocolate scorch.
  3. Add flavor: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. This brings out the chocolate’s richness without overpowering the candy additions.
  4. Mix in the Easter candy: Quickly fold in your chopped Easter candies, being careful to combine them evenly without causing the chocolate to harden prematurely.
  5. Pour and chill: Transfer the fudge mixture to your prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle extra candy pieces on top if you want a colorful finish. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  6. Slice and serve: Once set, lift the fudge from the pan using the parchment paper. Slice into bite-sized squares and enjoy immediately or store for later.

Notes

  • Use good quality chocolate for better flavor and texture.
  • Keep your saucepan on low heat to prevent grainy fudge and burning.
  • Chop candies finely to ensure even distribution and slight melting for perfect chewy bits.
  • Don’t skip chilling to guarantee clean cuts and ideal fudge texture.
  • Press candies on top before chilling for an eye-catching look.
