  • Extra Parmesan cheese, 2 tbsp (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mushrooms: Carefully clean mushrooms with a damp cloth and remove stems, setting caps aside. Finely chop the stems to use in the filling.
  2. Sauté Aromatics and Stems: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook minced garlic and chopped mushroom stems until fragrant and tender, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Mix the Filling: In a bowl, combine sautéed mixture with softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan, chopped green onions or chives, black pepper, and thyme. Stir until smooth and well blended.
  4. Stuff the Mushroom Caps: Generously fill each mushroom cap with the cream cheese mixture, pressing gently to secure the filling.
  5. Bake Until Golden: Arrange stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet. Sprinkle breadcrumbs and extra Parmesan on top if desired. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes or until the tops are golden, bubbly, and irresistible.
