Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Sauce

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Juice and zest of 1 fresh lemon
  • ½ cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter

Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare and Season the Chicken: Pat chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt and pepper to ensure flavor and help the sauce adhere well.
  2. Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken breasts for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  3. Make the Parmesan Sauce: In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add fresh lemon juice and zest, then pour in heavy cream. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Add Parmesan and Finish: Slowly whisk in grated Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper as needed. Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over to coat each piece well.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley on top for color and freshness. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Dry your chicken well to achieve a crisp sear before adding sauce.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best bright flavor.
  • Simmer the sauce gently to avoid curdling.
  • Grate Parmesan fresh for a smooth sauce texture.
  • Add a splash of broth if the sauce becomes too thick during cooking.
