Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 2 cups soft sugar cookies (fresh or store-bought), finely crumbled
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Coating & Decorations

  • 8 oz white chocolate or candy melts, for dipping
  • Sprinkles or colored sugar (optional), for decorating

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Crumble the Sugar Cookies. Finely crumble the sugar cookies in a large bowl either by hand or using a food processor for a smooth and uniform texture. The finer the crumbs, the smoother your truffles will be.
  2. Step 2: Mix with Cream Cheese and Vanilla. Add the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to the cookie crumbs. Combine thoroughly using a spoon or your hands until you have a soft, pliable dough with an even consistency.
  3. Step 3: Roll into Balls. Scoop small portions of the dough and roll them into bite-sized balls about one inch in diameter. Place the formed balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  4. Step 4: Chill Before Coating. Refrigerate the rolled truffles on the baking sheet for at least 30 minutes to firm them up, which makes the coating process neater and smoother.
  5. Step 5: Dip in Melted White Chocolate. Melt white chocolate or candy melts gently in the microwave, stirring every 15 seconds to prevent burning. Use a fork or dipping tool to fully submerge each truffle, then place them back on parchment paper to set.
  6. Step 6: Decorate and Let Set. While the coating is still soft, sprinkle with sprinkles or colored sugar if desired. Allow the truffles to rest at room temperature or refrigerate until the coating hardens completely.

Notes

  • Softened cream cheese at room temperature is essential for smooth mixing and no lumps.
  • Chilling the truffles before dipping prevents breakage and makes rolling easier.
  • Use parchment paper to avoid sticking and simplify cleanup.
  • Melt chocolate slowly in short microwave bursts, stirring frequently to avoid overheating.
  • For a thicker coating and extra crunch, dip the truffles twice, allowing the first layer to set before the second dip.
